Our Commitment to Water Conservation
Kibe’kuati Inc, in collaboration with the Caribbean Catastrophe Risk Insurance Facility (CCRIF), is dedicated to the conservation of three critical underground water sources in the Kalinago Territory. Our initiative focuses on creating protective by-laws, enhancing the natural environment through reforestation, and improving access to these water sources. This project is vital for community members who rely on natural springs for their water needs, offering a sustainable and natural alternative to treated water systems.
Key Project Components
Protective By-laws
We are developing comprehensive by-laws to ensure the long-term protection of our underground water sources, safeguarding them from potential threats.
Reforestation Efforts
Our reforestation initiatives aim to restore and enhance the natural habitat surrounding the water sources, promoting ecological balance and water purity.
Pathway Renovations
We are renovating and creating new pathways to improve accessibility, allowing community members easier and safer access to these essential water resources.
Positive Community Impact
Enhancing Access to Vital Water Resources
The initiative to conserve underground water sources in the Kalinago Territory will significantly improve the quality of life for residents. By safeguarding these natural springs, the project will ensure a sustainable water supply for those not connected to DOWASCO systems. The reforestation efforts and improved access paths will not only protect the environment but also foster a sense of community pride and responsibility. This project highlights the crucial role of underground water in maintaining the health and well-being of the community.
