Rehabilitation of Sexual and Gender Based Violence Survivors through Skills, Education, and Nursery Support
This project supported the rehabilitation and empowerment of survivors of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) and individuals who were at high risk of SGBV by equipping them with practical skills and academic training, alongside nursery support services for their children. Nursery support services came in the form of babysitting services provided to mothers who otherwise had no one to care for their child/children during the course of their participation in the program. Vocational training included pastry making, straw hat weaving, sewing, and tiling, offering participants a pathway to income generation and self-sufficiency. On the academic side, participants received instruction in basic computer literacy, Principles of Accounts, Mathematics, and English. Additonally, we provided traditional arts and craft making sessions at the Primary School level. By integrating both skill development and foundational education, the program aimed to foster independence, confidence, and long-term resilience among survivors.
